The various deadlines indicated below pertain primarily to regular undergraduate students. External Degree Program students and Graduate Program students should consult with their registration instruction sheet for deadlines.
Spring Semester 2009
| Jan. 19 | Classes begin |
| Jan. 30 | Final day to add and drop courses, and change grade option — after this date, no changes may be made to a student's schedule, except for second-half semester courses |
| Feb. 1 | Deadline to apply for May 2009 graduation |
| Feb. 6 | Deadline for independent study and internship contracts to be submitted to the Academic Dean's Office |
| Feb. 20 | Winter Recess begins after last class |
| Feb. 21 | Residence Halls close at 10 a.m. |
| March 1 | Residence Halls open at noon |
| March 2 | Classes resume |
| March 13 | Deadline to complete fall 2008 incomplete grades - Note: faculty may assign an earlier deadline First-half semester courses end |
| March 16 | Second-half semester classes begin |
| March 27 | Last day for class withdrawals |
| April 1 | Deadline to apply for August 2009 graduation |
| April 3 | Spring break begins after last class |
| April 4 | Residence Halls close at 10 a.m. |
| April 12 | Residence Halls open at noon |
| May 8 | Last day of classes |
| May 11-14 | Final exams |
| May 15 | Last day of semester |
| May 16 | Commencement |
